AbstractElevated fasting insulin levels (FI), indicative of altered insulin secretion and sensitivity, may precede type 2 diabetes (T2D) and cardiovascular disease onset. In this study, we group FI-associated genetic variants based on their genetic and phenotypic similarities and identify seven clusters with distinct mechanisms contributing to elevated FI levels.

AbstractAbdominal aortic aneurysm has a high heritability and often co-occurs with other cardiometabolic disorders, suggesting shared genetic susceptibility. We investigate this commonality leveraging recent GWAS studies of abdominal aortic aneurysm and 32 cardiometabolic traits.

AbstractAbdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a common disease with substantial heritability. In this study, we performed a genome-wide association meta-analysis from 14 discovery cohorts and uncovered 141 independent associations, including 97 previously unreported loci. A polygenic risk score derived from meta-analysis explained AAA risk beyond clinical risk factors.

AbstractIdentification of individuals at highest risk of coronary artery disease (CAD)—ideally before onset—remains an important public health need. Prior studies have developed genome-wide polygenic scores to enable risk stratification, reflecting the substantial inherited component to CAD risk.
