NORTH WEBSTER – The North Webster Town Council met for a brief meeting Tuesday. Utilities Manager Mike Noe reported brush clean up is beginning. Dan Thystrup, council president, asked if leaves will be picked to which Noe said “it will be part of our street cleanup.”He also stated that his crew will be filling potholes Thursday. He said it is almost time to start doing street sweeping and getting mats for drains and cleaning them out. “We put out trash cans, too,” he said.

NORTH WEBSTER - The North Webster Town Council held a special meeting Tuesday with members of the chamber as well as a representative of the Webster Lake Conservation Association. The town board met with four members of the North Webster Tippecanoe-Township Chamber of Commerce to discuss town signage, possibly on town property. One property in question is south of town near Backwater Road. The property, however, is owned by a Fort Wayne man, said Dave Waliczek, board member.

NORTH WEBSTER – North Webster Town Council approved a sewer rate increase at its Tuesday meeting. The rate increase is $10 a month and is effective March 1 for sewer bills. A rate study was conducted last year. The rate increase will help maintain the town’s sewer system. Appointments for 2025 were set with town attorney Jack Birch re-appointed, as well as current Town Marshal Greg Church. Town Council President Dan Thystrup will serve as president again.

NORTH WEBSTER – North Webster Town Council heard about storm drains polluting Webster Lake at its meeting Tuesday. Mike Wyrick, of the Webster Lake Conservation Association, presented a storm drain study indicating storm drains were noted as a potential pollutant source to the lake. He noted several studies have been done in the past, dating back to 2000. That year, the Division of Fish & Wildlife's Lake and River Enhancement (LARE) funded a diagnostic study for the lake.

By Phoebe MuthartInkFreeNewsSYRACUSE — One Call Water in Syracuse has new ownership. The business had a ribbon cutting to celebrate the occasion, hosted by the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce. The new owners are Bryan and Kaitlyn Stout of Millersburg. They took over the business in August of 2024 and have two children. The previous owners, Mike and Margaret Chesnut, retired. The couple also have two other businesses.
