There were plenty of vendor tables so people could walk around and learn how to help protect the planet. With free admission, the first 300 visitors got a free lunch consisting of hot dogs, chips, dessert and water. There were activities are for all ages.

On Wednesday, April 30, a ribbon cutting was held for the new facility. A former camp, the building was renovated to make a home for major events, such as weddings. Owner Chris Scheeren, along with wife, Shanda, have two other local event venues — Blue Barn Berry Farm and Event Venue and Farmhouse Events and Catering.

YMCA CEO Jim Swanson was on hand to make a few remarks. Those in attendance included members of the Kosciusko Chamber and North Webster- Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce. The Y is located in the North Webster Community Center.

    NORTH WEBSTER – North Webster has the potential of receiving $500,000 if the town receives an Orthopedic Industry Retention Initiative (OIRI) grant, Clerk-Treasurer Leigh Anne Jessop told the North Webster Town Council Tuesday. Kosciusko County is receiving $30 million for OIRI and $5 million is set aside to be used for outside of Warsaw and Winona Lake. North Webster would receive part of what is set aside.

    NORTH WEBSTER – The North Webster Town Council met for a brief meeting Tuesday. Utilities Manager Mike Noe reported brush clean up is beginning. Dan Thystrup, council president, asked if leaves will be picked to which Noe said “it will be part of our street cleanup.”He also stated that his crew will be filling potholes Thursday. He said it is almost time to start doing street sweeping and getting mats for drains and cleaning them out. “We put out trash cans, too,” he said.
