The Odisha government has come up with a new facility in the Subhadra Yojana Portal for those beneficiaries who mistakenly opted out, informed Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Thursday. Informing about the new facility, she said the portal has a new facility for the opted-out beneficiaries to opt in. After logging in to the portal, anyone can opt-in, she added.

The residents of Chanakana village under Paradeepgarh Panchayat in Jagatsinghpur district are grappling with a serious environmental threat—a hill formed from toxic Gypsum waste. This waste, originating from the nearby Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) fertiliser plant, has created a hazardous situation where acidic water seeps into cultivated lands. The Gypsum hill allegedly releases acidic water, causing extensive damage to local agriculture and greenery.

If all goes well, devotees visiting Puri Srimandir will have the sacred offerings known as the ‘Mahaprasad’ to their heart content only at Rs 100. By paying Rs 100, a devotee will have items like ‘Anna’, ‘Dal’, ‘Mahura’, ‘Besara’ and ‘Khata’.
