    STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- At just 19, Staten Islander Ariana Gonzalez was told she could have lost her life due to a severe pregnancy complication. “I had a feeling that something was wrong,” Gonzalez, of Great Kills, said. Gonzalez started her pregnancy journey in March 2024. By Oct. 31, when she was 33 weeks pregnant, she felt something was off and was very unwell. She called an ambulance and went to the Staten Island University Hospital.
