(GRAY) – Newly proposed changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance, or SNAP, program could have the state of Minnesota paying an additional $220 million to keep the program running. Congressional Republicans are looking to advance a proposal that would, among other things, pass along 25% of current SNAP costs to the states. The changes aim to slash a significant amount of spending at the federal level.
