ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Friday, May 9, was Big Check Day for Ector County ISD. This year the district will give out over $4.6 million through the Teacher Incentive Allotment Program. 16 Blackshear teachers received over $219,000 though the Teacher Incentive Allotment Program. “This is one of the best days of the year in ECISD,” said Dr. Keeley Boyer, the Superintendent for ECISD.

MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - For the 8th year in a row, over 80 8th grade girls from Midland ISD schools were encouraged to pursue an Engineering career as part of Introducing a Girl to Engineering Day. This day is designed to inspire young women to learn about and consider a future job in the Engineering field. Throughout the day, ExxonMobil employees lead the girls through three hands-on, problem solving and interactive experiments.

ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - On May 8, Medical Center Health System hosted an open house for their newly renovated ProCare Cardiovascular Service Clinic. MCH says the space was largely needed due to the rapid growth of their Cardiology department. This new space will make it easier for both doctors and patients to deliver and receive care. Two major updates include new state of the art technology and a more efficient patient flow.

ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Odessa City Councilman Eddie Mitchell apologized for a letter that was sent to Odessans in District 1 a few weeks ago. The letter is about the zoning in District 1 whether or not new mobile homes and manufactured homes can be built there. This all started back on April 14 when letters were sent out to property owners in District 1 from the Odessa Planning District about a proposed amendment.
