MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. (CBS Philadelphia)— A man who allegedly shot a police officer in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody after an hours-long barricade on Sunday night, a Montgomery County official said. A Montgomery County official said around 10:30 p.m. that a suspect was taken into custody. Before that, a shelter-in-place order was in effect for residents on Winding Road in Pottstown for hours. The order has since been lifted.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS Philadelphia) -- The six passengers traveling on a medical jet before it crashed in Northeast Philadelphia Friday night have been identified by the Mexico-based company that was operating the small plane. All those onboard the Learjet 55 aircraft, including a pediatric patient who recently finished treatment at Shriners Children's Hospital, were killed in the crash.

The daring rescue happened Friday around 3 p.m. on Waynesbrooke Road. In the video, you can hear the sad sound of one of the dogs whimpering as the officers spring into action to rescue the animals from the freezing water.

The thief broke into St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church at 21 South 13th Street by smashing through a stained glass window, police said. The person then stole a golden crown from a statue of Mary.

(CBS) — A Chester County man has been charged with murder after his girlfriend's 21-month-old boy died from blunt force trauma caused by at least one strike to the abdomen, according to the district attorney. Enrique Lopez Gomez, 30, of West Grove, is charged with third-degree murder and related offenses.

But if you wanted to learn more about him, you would quickly find out it isn't always that easy, which is why Rowan University held what's called a "transcribe-a-thon" to give people more access to his history.
