Cherrelle Hitchcock owns Flora and Forge Studios on Commercial Street and said Mother’s Day orders have been off the hook this year. “We actually had to close our website because people kept putting in orders. I’ve had phone calls today asking for last minute deliveries,” Hitchcock said.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Grant Beach Neighborhood Association is making youth sports leagues more affordable for families. Saturday was also declared ‘Neighborhood Youth Sports Day’ in Springfield. “We just love to see kids out here that are able to have the opportunity to play sports. For a lot of families, it’s hard with the price range that sports are,” said Grant Beach Neighborhood Association President Jamie Tatum.

ELWOOD, Mo. (KY3) - An Elwood woman caught a burglar on camera breaking into her home. Thankfully, she wasn’t home when it happened. “He (the thief) touched all my stuff. It just felt creepy. Everywhere I walked, I felt he’s walked here, he’s touched this,” said Sherry Eden. Sherry’s son Cory Eden set up the camera, and is thankful he did. He said the burglar left behind a mess. “It was through the night that she found more and more stuff missing.

REPUBLIC, Mo. (KY3) - Many places were impacted by last week’s storms, including cemeteries. Evergreen Cemetery in Republic is one of them. Quentin Gold usually just mows the cemetery but this upcoming Saturday he will be working to clean up damage leftover from the storm. “We are going to bring in a skid steer. It’s going to weight 7,000 to 8,000 pounds. We’re bringing that in to lift up the branches, cut it up, chainsaw it.

GREENE COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) - Monday is the last day to drop off storm debris for no cost at the Yardwaste Recycling Center in Brookline and the Noble Hill Sanitary Landfill. City leaders tell KY3 that on Saturday, there were around 1,000 customers at the Yardwaste Recycling Center, and on a typical Saturday, they see about 250. On Sunday, the center saw over 400 people. Mark Epps dropped off brush and limbs on Sunday. He said he’s thankful for this free resource.
