CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (IOWA'S NEWS NOW) — A powerful batch of storms moved through northeast Iowa early Friday morning, producing very large hail. There's reports of siding damage in Bremer county and there may be more reports as the sun comes up. Ping pong to golf ball and even close to tennis ball size hail was reported. Here's video from a campsite in Fayette county early Friday:Now, a cold front will push southeast across the state and lead to temperatures dropping through the day.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) — Temperatures are skyrocketing under strong southwest winds Friday afternoon. As of noon, temperatures have already been around 80 in spots!The sunshine and strong winds are contributing to the warmth, creating friction at the surface and sending in warmer air from the south. These conditions will lead to record highs being smashed today in much of eastern Iowa.

LIVE UPDATE 11:45 AMMore thunderstorms are expected in eastern Iowa as a strong low pressure system moves across the region. Storm could be strong with more hail, strong winds, and even an isolated tornado. This afternoon higher chances for strong to severe storms will be in southeastern Iowa, where a warm front will be located. That front, along with the low pressure system, will be the focus for strong storms as it adds more spin into the atmosphere.

Strong thunderstorms early Wednesday led to hail coating the streets in eastern Iowa. Hail reports continued for much of the day with some accumulation occurring due to colder air in place. Additionally, an orange/brown glow can be seen in the sky and dirt showing up on cars.

SHARE YOUR HAIL PHOTOS HERECEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) — A strong storm led to hail pouring down on the north side of Cedar Rapids Wednesday morning. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Linn County at 5:30 a.m. for quarter size hail. While the hail wasn't that large, it did come down fast and led to some roads being completely COATED in hail. There were reports of hail covered streets near Aplington as well.
