REDSTONE ARSENAL (WHNT) — NASA says a building at Marshall Space Flight Center was damaged Tuesday evening from storms. An official with NASA reported the damage to the National Weather Service following a severe line of thunderstorms that moved into North Alabama. U.S. Army Garrison at Redstone Arsenal said the damage happened around 7:30 p.m.A damage report filed by the NWS said the damage was to an unoccupied warehouse. The report said the roof and side of the building were damaged in the storm.

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The family of one of the men killed in a deadly Smith Lake boating incident in April is suing the bass boat driver, Major League Fishing and the driver of the striper service boat. On Friday, the family of Joey Broom filed a lawsuit against Major League Fishing, LLC, Flint Davis and Gary Holcombe. Davis is the angler whose boat was involved in the deadly boating incident and Holcombe was operating the Smith Lake Striper Guide Service boat that was also involved.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell has officially resigned from his post. Mitchell became a member of the Alabama Supreme Court in 2018 and was scheduled to finish his current term in 2031. In his resignation letter, he said he feels called to play a larger role in the effort to “boldly restore the United States Constitution.” Mitchell also said that in his role as a judge, it limits what he can say or do for the state and for the country.

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office provided more details after they found a formerly reported missing 13-year-old from Albertville last week. On April 30, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office said Dayetssi Carrasquillo Pizarro, a formerly reported missing girl from Albertville, was found safe in Arizona with a 32-year-old man, Raul Alexis Arellano-Romero.
