Houston Rockets options at No. 10 in NBA draft. What mock drafts say

The Rockets were left out of the Texas two-step to the top of the NBA draft in Monday’s lottery — Dallas and San Antonio came up with the right combinations for the top two picks — as Houston slid one spot to No. 10. Assuming the Rockets don’t trade the pick, general manager Rafael Stone won’t be focused on any position, and instead go for the best available talent. With the draft six weeks away, it’s never too early to see what the mock drafts are saying after the lottery.

Texas A&M earned the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA softball tournament. The Aggies, who were declared co-champs of the SEC tournament when weather canceled the final against Oklahoma, were one of seven SEC teams to receive a top-eight seed and the right to host a super regional, if they advance. Texas A&M (45-9) will open in College Station against Saint Francis at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Marist and Liberty are the other two teams in that regional.

Texas A&M and Oklahoma were declared co-champs of the SEC softball tournament after bad weather wiped out Saturday’s championship game in Athens, Georgia. The Sooners will receive the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament — the field will be announced Sunday — but A&M is certain to receive a bid as well. Oklahoma, the defending national champion, was the top seed in the conference tournament. Texas A&M was the second seed.

The Texas-Texas A&M football game moves to Friday after Thanksgiving for 2025

Texas and Texas A&M will play their football game on Friday in 2025, the schools announced. This year's game, set for Austin, will be at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, the day after Thanksgiving. The rivalry resumed last year as the Longhorns joined the SEC and beat the Aggies on a Saturday night in College Station, 17-7. Rockets guard Jalen Green said he “should be good” for Game 6 on Friday against Golden State after bumping knees in the first quarter of Houston’s eventual 131-116 win over Golden State. Green, who has had an inconsistent first four games to the series, started Wednesday’s game with a more aggressive approach. He drove and drew fouls on two of the Rockets' first possessions, and even made a free throw to complete a three-point play as well as hitting a 3-pointer.

Around the middle of the fourth quarter of the Houston Rockets' eventual 109-106 loss to the Golden State Warriors in Game 4 of the Western Conference playoffs, Steve Kerr called for his team to foul Steven Adams. It was a new version of Hack-a-Shaq, intentionally fouling one of Houston's poorer free throw shooters to change the pace and slow down Houston's offense.
