CORNING, NY (WENY) -- A Southern Tier restaurant has been named as having the best burger in the state of New York. The New York Beef Council announced Butcher's Son in Corning as the winner of its 9th annual Best Burger competition. The competition came town to ten finalized across the state, evaluated by anonymous judges visiting each location.

CORNING, NY (WENY) -- The city of Corning will host two Walk and Talk events later in May, looking to gather community input on the future of two city parks. McKinney Park, along with William Street Park and neighboring Hillvue Park have soil contaminated with metals such as lead, arsenic, cadmium, along with waste such as ash, brick and glass. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is overseeing cleanup and redevelopment efforts, through the State Superfund program.

Artist and volunteers spent Saturday morning prepping their next canvases -- which is a concrete wall along the Lackawanna Rail Trail, off of Lake Street near Madison Avenue, near the former Big Lots store.

ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- The sounds of hammers and other construction tools could be heard at two homes on Elmira's east side Saturday morning. It was work being done on the next two homes being rehabbed for Chemung County Habitat for Humanity. Saturday's work event was a special one, as part of Habitat's "Women Build" -- bringing together women of all backgrounds and skill levels to help work on homes that will soon benefit local families. The Women Build coincides with Mother's Day weekend.

ITHACA, NY (WENY) -- Ithaca Police are looking for a man they say is pretending to be performing maintenance work, in order to gain access to people's homes. Police say they've fielded multiple reports of a suspicious man in the area of South Hill. According to IPD, their investigation found the man is not with any legitimate maintenance service. Witnesses describe the man as a white male, approximately 6'5" tall, in his mid 30's with an average build.
