WETM-TV operates as the NBC affiliate serving the Central and Western Twin Tiers regions in Southern Upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania. Based in Elmira, it transmits a high-definition digital signal via UHF channel 18 from its transmitter located on Hawley Hill in Big Flats. Viewers can also access the station on Time Warner Cable channel 3, as well as in HD on digital channel 1203. WETM is owned by the Nexstar Broadcasting Group and has its studios situated on East Water Street in the heart of Elmira.

    CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) – Corning Community College softball picked up a pair of big wins at home. The Red Barons swept Herkimer in a doubleheader on Saturday, outscoring the Generals 12-6 and 28-7. CCC found themselves in a 6-1 deficit early in the opening game, before rallying back to win. In the 3rd inning, Teona Cruz delivered an RBI-single, scoring Spencer-Van Etten/Candor grad Raegan Sudnikovich.     HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) – Local baseball and softball took over the Twin Tiers, kicking off the weekend. Elmira College softball split a doubleheader with Russell Sage on Friday, taking the opening game in extra innings. In Game 1, the Soaring Eagles rallied back from an early deficit, as Katie Distefano delivered a double to score Jocelyn Jean in the 2nd.     ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — An upcoming travel plaza is back in the minutes for a scheduled Chemung County Planning Board meeting as it’s looking for an exception to the city’s zoning ordinance. Travel Centers of America, one of the largest truckstop chains in the country, is scheduled to build a new travel plaza off East Church Street, close to Interstate 86, sometime in 2025.
