WETM-TV operates as the NBC affiliate serving the Central and Western Twin Tiers regions in Southern Upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania. Based in Elmira, it transmits a high-definition digital signal via UHF channel 18 from its transmitter located on Hawley Hill in Big Flats. Viewers can also access the station on Time Warner Cable channel 3, as well as in HD on digital channel 1203. WETM is owned by the Nexstar Broadcasting Group and has its studios situated on East Water Street in the heart of Elmira.

    VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – More than a dozen people are lucky to be alive after a car crashed into the Buffet Star restaurant in Vestal over the weekend. The crash occurred Saturday afternoon as a red SUV smashed through a doorway on the west side of the building at a high rate of speed. Several diners were injured as they dove and scrambled to get out of the way of the vehicle, which struck the building with such force to dislodge concrete blocks around the doorway.
