A former working cattle farm in Osteen, in Volusia County, officially opened as the D Ranch Preserve following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Conservation Florida, a nonprofit statewide land conservancy, will maintain the 476-acre expanse of land, which was donated by an anonymous donor in 2019.

The Garden Theatre has a plan to reopen, unanimously approved by Winter Garden's city commissioners - but the venue won’t be home to a season of plays and musicals. There's no firm timetable yet for the theater to again open its doors, but the approved plan calls for the venue in the heart of the west Orange County community's downtown to be run by the city with assistance from an as yet unchosen third-party manager.
