    The Mountlake Terrace City Council is scheduled to vote on a proposed Flock safety system for the police department during its May 15 meeting. Discussed initially during the March 27 meeting, the council will review and vote on the license plate reader cameras and the yearly service contract. The council is also scheduled to discuss and vote on an interlocal agreement with the US Department of Agriculture’s Waterfowl Management Program to manage the goose population at Ballinger Park.

    The Edmonds School Board of Directors is scheduled to vote on a board policy for performance-based pathways to high school graduation on May 13. The State Board of Education created a new performance-based pathway option to help students meet the graduation pathway requirement. To offer the option, the district must adopt a policy and develop procedures that define its implementation. The proposed policy follows the Washington State School Directors’s model.

The USDA’s Waterfowl Management Program helps control wildlife to prevent conflict with humans. This could involve removing or eliminating wildlife from an area where it may damage agriculture, property or natural resources, or pose health and safety risks.
