    LOS ANGELES (AP) — California Gov. Gavin Newsom asked a federal court Tuesday to block the Trump administration from using the National Guard and Marines to assist with immigration raids in Los Angeles, saying it would only heighten tensions. Newsom filed the emergency request after President Donald Trump ordered the deployment to LA of roughly 4,000 National Guard members and 700 Marines following protests of the president’s stepped-up enforcement of immigration laws.

    President Donald Trump has authorized the deployment of an additional 2,000 National Guard members to respond to immigration protests in Los Angeles, according to the Pentagon’s chief spokesperson. The latest order brings the total number of Guard put on federal orders for the protests to more than 4,100. The news comes hours after the Pentagon deployed about 700 Marines to the protests to work alongside local law enforcement.

    BOSTON (WHDH) - On Monday, Governor Maura Healey released the results of a survey of state-owned land that she says can be used for housing development. The goal is to create more affordable housing in Massachusetts. The governor’s office unveiled over 450 acres that could be used to build homes. Healey expects the new development could create as many as 3,500 new housing units across Massachusetts. Healey says she doesn’t want to see space wasted that could benefit state residents.

    BOSTON (WHDH) - The shocking video that Boston police are circulating shows an unidentified suspect bashing the windows of a Toyota Prius after the car crashed on Commonwealth Avenue by Boston University over the weekend. Police say late Friday night, the incident appears to be the end result of road rage. The victim’s uncle spoke to 7NEWS, saying his nephew is in his 20s and doesn’t speak English. “He was scared, a lot,” said Ibrahim, the victim’s uncle.
