AbstractAlthough numerous attempts to demonstrate inter-individual differences in trainability across various outcomes have been unsuccessful, the investigation of maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max) trainability warrants further study. Our objective was to conduct the first systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate inter-individual differences in VO2max trainability across aerobic exercise training protocols utilizing non-exercising comparator groups.

AbstractThis study had 2 primary aims (1) compare the effects of multi-joint vs. single-joint lower body exercise on regional muscular development of the quadriceps; and (2) compare the effects of exercises performed at different knee-joint angles on hypertrophy of the triceps surae. Thirty young, resistance-trained participants unilaterally performed a combination of the following lower body exercises: leg press, leg extension, straight-leg toe press, and seated calf raise.

AbstractThe literature on high-intensity interval training (HIIT) contains claims that, if true, could revolutionize the science and practice of exercise. This critical analysis examines two varieties of claims: (i) HIIT is effective in improving various indices of fitness and health, and (ii) HIIT is as effective as more time-consuming moderate-intensity continuous exercise.

This paper introduces a forensic workflow that can be used to link drill-bit and bottomhole assembly (BHA) damage to drilling dysfunction. This paper will also discuss the data that should be collected and how it should be processed to enable operational practices and engineering design changes to address these issues. There is a vast amount of data collected in all drilling operations that can be used to improve performance if utilized within an effective forensic workflow.
