The BC Review Board has ruled that the child killer formerly known as Allan Schoenborn, will not be allowed an extension on his 28-day unescorted leave into the community. Schoenborn - now legally named Ken John Johnson - has been living in the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam since he was found not criminally responsible for the 2008 killing of his three children in Merritt in 2010.

A man has been charged with second-degree murder in Sicamous after a woman died at a mobile home park last week. The RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit says on Wednesday, June 19, 66-year-old Jo Ann Jackson was found unresponsive in the driveway of a mobile home park on Hillier Road. The event prompted a public safety warning.

A wildfire 15 kilometres north of Lillooet has reached an estimated 30 hectares in size within hours of its discovery Monday afternoon. The Tiffen Creek fire is considered out of control as it burns its way up a steep slope off of Highway 99. The BC Wildfire Service is currently responding to the Tiffen Creek wildfire (K70591), 15 kilometers north of Lillooet.

A Delta woman has been left shaken after an object hit her car and shattered its rear window while driving along Highway 99 near the Massey Tunnel Wednesday morning. Janna Lee tells CityNews she was driving northbound around 7:30 a.m. under the 17A overpass when she heard a loud bang. "I heard something like crash, and I initially I thought it was a rock that had been thrown on the roof of my car. And I was kind of like, 'what the hell?'," said Lee.

As Langley continues to see construction and population growth, BC Hydro says it's making a big investment in the area. BC Hydro announced Wednesday that $725 million worth of capital construction will take place in Langley over the next 10 years to upgrade and expand the electricity grid and provide clean power for homes and businesses.
