CATSKILL — On the final day of a hearing to determine whether Carrie Weiser should receive a limited sentence under a state law that grants leniency to domestic abuse survivors, prosecutors played a recording from a jailhouse phone that appeared to undercut the convicted murderer’s argument. The warning, which covers the portion of the creek below a dam that impounds Wappinger Lake, is not an official advisory; those are issued by the state Department of Health, which told the Times Union it had not issued any advisories specific to the lower Wappinger.
