    The schoolgirl has been rushed to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. An Ayrshire road remains closed this evening after a car and an 11-year-old girl were involved in a crash. Emergency services were scrambled to Middleton Road in Irvine at around 5pm. Police say that the youngster has been rushed to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for treatment. The extent of the schoolgirl's injuries have not been disclosed by officials. The driver of the car was not injured in the incident.
