LOUISVILLE — Spring football intra-squad games have been a tradition among colleges for decades, but now they are beginning to trend toward a thing of the past. Numerous power four schools have either canceled this year’s game or overhauled the format, including Oklahoma, Nebraska, N.C. State, Ohio State, Texas, USC, Michigan State, Minnesota, North Carolina and Florida State. The culprits are, you guessed it, NIL and the transfer portal. Do any of you have one of “those friends”? You know, the kind of friend who is truly mystified by way you struggle with such things as getting organized or maintaining a routine? LOUISVILLE, Ky. )KT) -- Lousiville basketball coach Pat Kelsey signed two more transfers Thursday, bringing his total for the last two days to three as U of L announced signees Ryan Conwell (Xavier) and Isaac McKneely (Virginia) for the 2025-26 season. Conwell joins the Cardinals as a rising senior after previous seasons at Indiana State and South Florida before joining the Muketeers. He’s the 17th-best transfer in the country according to 247Sports and No. 16 according to On3.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KT) -- In gratitude to coach Pat Kelsey for leading Louisville out of the college basketball wilderness, back to relevance on the national scene in his first season, and with the expectations of more good things to come, the U of L Athletic Association (ULA) Thursday afternoon awarded Kelsey with a pay raise of $1 million. Kelsey's original deal was for five years and $2.3 million per year. He later earned a one-year extension for guiding the Cards to the NCAA Tournament.
