A SCOTS mum was hospitalised after a dip in the sea with friends - in contaminated water. Shelley Sim from fell ill last year after going for a swim with the Salty Sea Sisters swimming group to celebrate a friend's birthday. After waking up the next day with stomach pains and fatigue, she went to see her GP, who told her to go to hospital urgently. Shelley, of East Lothian, remained in the Western General Hospital for five days due to severe gastroenteritis and dehydration.

A number of redundancies have been announced at Dundee’s CJ Lang. The company, which has operated out of the city for more than a century, owns Scotland’s Spar convenience stores. CJ Lang confirmed a redundancy process is ongoing but have not yet confirmed how many roles are affected. But it is understood, the number of positions being made redundant is in double figures. Customer facing jobs and the firm’s distribution network would not be impacted, the company said.
