    Construction of a championship golf course on 290 rolling acres in southern Greenville County is officially underway. Kawonu Golf Club broke ground April 14 with a bulldozer and four shovels wielded by founding partners Scott Ferrell and Barton Tuck, as well as course architect Andrew Green and development manager Noel Tuck. The site is located near the intersection of Fork Shoals Road and S.C. Highway 418, about seven miles west of Fountain Inn.
