PONTIAC, Mich. (WJRT) - The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office is standing firm against James Crumbley's motion for a new trial in his involuntary manslaughter case. He is the father of Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley, who shot and killed Madisyn Baldwin, Tate Myre, Hana St. Juliana and Justin Shilling on Nov. 30, 2021. James Crumbley was convicted last year on four counts of involuntary manslaughter.

4-year-old shot inside Saginaw residence late Thursday

SAGINAW, Mich. (WJRT) - Police are investigating a shooting that left a 4-year-old girl injured at a residence on Saginaw's east side. The shooting was reported around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of Sanford Street. Officers from the Saginaw Police Department found the girl suffering from an apparent gunshot wound when they arrived. An ambulance rushed the girl to an area hospital, where her condition was stable Friday morning.
Charge dismissed against deputy who left gun at Lapeer High School

LAPEER, Mich. (WJRT) - The criminal case against a Genesee County sheriff deputy who left his service weapon in the Lapeer High School parking lot in February is over with no further punishment. Court records show a misdemeanor charge of reckless use of a firearm against Deputy Jonathan Becher was dismissed Thursday during a hearing in Lapeer County District Court.

State environmental regulators say they found unauthorized work being completed in areas designated as wetlands during an inspection of the 1,100-acre site on March 18.

Vienna Township officials say a major water main break was reported on Clio Road near Dodge Road south of the Clio city limits on Thursday morning. The break affected all municipal water users in the city and township. Some users reported low water pressure or no water service at all Thursday morning.

Bunzl Distribution, Inc. has leased 162,637 square feet, bringing the 330,000-square-foot building in the former Buick City site to full occupancy. The company is based on London, working in distribution and outsourcing. Bunzl has 8,000 employees across North America and sales of more than $12 billion annually.
