    The Durham Police Department on Monday announced a second arrest has been made in a 2022 murder at a Durham apartment complex. According to police, 20-year-old Jamaree Green was arrested and charged with the murder of 39-year-old Jivon Cherry of Durham. Police found Cherry in the trunk of a carparked at the Falls Pointe at the Park Apartments. Investigators determinedPolice charged Green on June 26 with first-degree murder and felony conspiracy in connection ot the murder.

    WRAL News learned Monday the cellmate of William Surles, 64, who was found dead in his bunk last year, will be charged with his murder. Surles, an inmate in the Harnett County Detention Center, was found dead in his cell in December 2022 while serving a 30-day sentence for violating probation for a DWI charge. Harnett Sheriff Wayne Coats said a grand jury will charge Surles' cellmate with his murder.

    Drivers in Wake County on Monday said people have been throwing rocks at their cars on busy stretches of road around the Beltline.
