LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Tuesday evening, about three dozen people, including federal workers and union leaders, gathered on the corner of 70th & O streets to share a message. “We’re just workers like everybody else living in modest homes like everyone else,” Ruark Hotopp, National Vice President for the American Federation of Government Employees District 8, said. “The same churches, our kids play on the same playgrounds. LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - For growing families, the decision of whether or not to give birth in a hospital isn't taken lightly, as many go over their birth plan in detail. On Saturday, a Nebraska hospital system announced a major change that is leaving pregnant women with even fewer options. In Lincoln, CHI Birth Center was the only option for expecting mothers not wanting to give birth in a traditional hospital setting, while receiving care from midwives.
