ST. MARTIN PARISH — On Friday Butte La Rose’s boat launch at the Atchafalaya Welcome Center was officially closed for drawdown season. For years the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has seen a steady increase in invasive aquatic plants in Henderson Lake. Fisherman Jody Meche said he's seen the volume of invasive aquatic plants go up in recent years. "It has increased tremendously, that's why they try to do these drawdowns to try to get a handle on it and control it,” Meche said.

I spoke with the New Iberia Police Department about what the investigation into her death has revealed so far. A few weeks after a recall letter for Councilwoman Janise Anthony was sent to Districts 1, 2, and 4, labeled “Paid for by concerned citizens of District 4,” a recall petition was requested. The petition requested August 15th, was filed by Kenrell Francios and Ernest Bing. The reasons for the recall petition stated:“Unfit for office, has not represented the needs of the community.”On Tuesday I spoke with Bing about receiving the letter in the mail. Two days later he filed for a recall petition.
