Punters will enjoy alfresco dining as seen on the streets of Europe at the Subi Spritz festival’s tasty new event, Pasta Lane on March 16. Bar Amelie, Subiaco Hotel and Dilly Dally will each transform the inner suburb’s laneways, rolling out the checkered-red tablecloth and plating up their own pasta feasts. South Perth residents have called on the City of South Perth council to urgently consider options to preserve private trees after Planning Minister John Carey rejected a proposal to protect large trees on private properties. Last Friday Mr Carey announced on ABC radio that he would be formally rejecting bids from the City of Nedlands and City of South Perth to change their planning schemes to require development approval to remove significant trees from private residential properties.
