SALISBURY, Md. – The Christian Shelter in Salisbury is hoping to the community will support them this Giving Tuesday. They’ve teamed up with the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore for the online giving campaign: Shore Gives More. Caroline County Sheriff's Dept. will continue law enforcement for the Town RIDGELY, Md. – The Town of Ridgely says it will not be bringing back it’s Police Department. They issued a statement Monday regarding the future of the Department. The entire Police Department was suspended back in March following allegations related to suspected violations of perjury and misconduct in office.
DNREC announces closure of parts of North Indian River Inlet Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delaware’s Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) says parts of North Indian River Inlet Beach are currently closed. Officials say the closure is due to debris and exposed bridge infrastructure that have created some hazardous conditions. For the next several months, DNREC says heavy equipment will be moving in and around the are to remedy the issues. They are asking citizens to respect the closure.
Queen Anne's County woman faces charges in January Bay Bridge crash

QUEEN ANNE’S CO., Md. – A Chester woman has been arrested in connection with a January multi-vehicle crash on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Maryland Transportation Authority Police say 48-year-old Gwendolyn Persina was driving under the influence of alcohol when she caused the crash. Persina was reportedly driving at high speeds when she struck another vehicle and caused the chain-reaction crash.
Law enforcement ask community for help in murder of Salisbury 10-year-old; increase reward

SALISBURY, Md. – Law enforcement agencies are asking for the community’s help in tracking down those responsible for the death of a 10-year-old boy this week. “A ten-year-old boy, Tyron Colbert, was unfortunately taken from us and killed in that incident,” says Salisbury Police Chief David Meienschein. On August 5th, shots were fired into a home on the 200 block of Clay Street. Officials say it happened around 10:35PM.

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Police are handling a death investigation Saturday. Details are limited at this time but officials say it is in the area of Mill Street and Riverside Drive. According to a social media post from the Department, the Criminal Investigation Division is leading the investigation. WiHi graduate chasing big dreams competing for "Favorite Chef" title

SALISBURY, Md. – One Salisbury native is vying to be named the “2024 Favorite Chef.” It’s an online competition connected with celebrity chef Carla Hall and the James Beard Foundation. “I found it randomly, I was actually on break at work, I was scrolling and I saw that one of my favorite chefs Carla Hall was hosting this little online competition,” says Nakylah Hayes, 26. Nakylah has broken into the top 10 of the “Favorite Chef” competition.
Blood drive planned in Ocean City Wednesday

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Ocean CIty Summer Blood Drive returns to the Convention Center Wednesday. It’s the fourth year the Blood Bank of Delmarva has held a big blood drive in the resort town in the Summer. Officials say it’s a critical time for donations as most tend to drop off over the Summer. Organizers say donors tend to focus on vacations plus the Blood Bank of Delmarva loses access to a big resource when schools aren’t in session.
MSP Trooper indicted in Wicomico Co., suspended without pay

SALISBURY, Md. – A Maryland State Police Trooper has been indicted in Wicomico County. Senior Trooper Jordan Monk, 34, is facing two charges: Intercept wire/oral/electronic communication and misconduct in office. The charges stem from an incident on February 15, 2024 where the indictment alleges Monk “did willfully intercept an oral communication.” He allegedly used his body-worn camera to record oral communication unlawfully.
