CLAYTON — A Wear Orange event is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at East Clayton Community Park, 1774 Glen Laurel Road. Orange is the color friends of Chicago high school student Hadiya Pendleton wore after she was shot and killed on a playground at age 15. It’s also the color that hunters wear in the woods to alert other hunters and protect themselves. “We wear orange to demand a future free from gun violence,” said Shannon Halbur, lead organizer for the Wear Orange event.
