YOUNGSVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Part of U.S. 1 in Franklin County was closed for hours Tuesday after a tractor-trailer flipped in a crash with an SUV, witnesses and officials said. The incident was reported just before 10 a.m. along U.S. 1 southbound near Bert Winston Road, about midway between Youngsville and Franklinton, according to the NCDOT. No one was seriously injured in the wreck which happened when an SUV was making a U-turn into the southbound lanes near Bert Winston Road, witnesses said.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Raleigh police seized multiple weapons out of a car on Capital Boulevard Friday afternoon after they received a report of one of the car’s occupants pointing a gun at someone while driving. Police were alerted to the incident and caught the suspect’s car when it got stuck in traffic resulting from a motorcycle crash on Capital Boulevard near Wade Avenue. Photos of the wrecked motorcycle appear to show a Dodge Challenger with a front, left tire out of its wheel well.
