(Cary Police Department) CARY, N.C. (WNCN) — Two families were displaced after a tree fell on a house in Cary Monday afternoon, police said. According to the Cary Police Department, firefighters responded to the 100 block of Templeton Street shortly before 1 p.m. for a report of a fallen tree. When they arrived, they saw the tree caused significant damage to the house it fell on.

We’re coming off a warm and breezy Saturday with highs in the 80s, and the mild spring weather continues into Sunday. Expect more clouds with highs in the mid to upper 80s, and a light breeze. Monday will feel like summer again — sunny, breezy, and warm, with highs in the mid-80s. Winds could gust up to 25 mph in the afternoon. Rain and storm chances return Tuesday, especially during the afternoon and evening. A few stronger storms are possible, but most of the day will still be dry.

YOUNGSVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Part of U.S. 1 in Franklin County was closed for hours Tuesday after a tractor-trailer flipped in a crash with an SUV, witnesses and officials said. The incident was reported just before 10 a.m. along U.S. 1 southbound near Bert Winston Road, about midway between Youngsville and Franklinton, according to the NCDOT. No one was seriously injured in the wreck which happened when an SUV was making a U-turn into the southbound lanes near Bert Winston Road, witnesses said.
