(WNCN) — A crash involving an overturned dump truck closed a section of U.S. 1 in Raleigh Tuesday afternoon for approximately 1 1/2 hours, the North Carolina Department of Transportation. According to the NCDOT, the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on Capital Boulevard (U.S. 1) near Gresham Lake Road heading south.

PRINCETON, N.C. (WNCN) — A major presence of emergency services and school officials surrounded a crash Wednesday afternoon in Johnston County involving a school bus with students on board and a white SUV. Minutes after school dismissed at Princeton Elementary on Holts Pond Road, the driver of a white SUV crashed into bus #157. Among the students were 5th grader Peyton Brafford and his sister Avalyn, who is in kindergarten. “It looked like the SUV was speeding,” Peyton said.
