MOUNT ZION - Authorities have identified the 19-year-old woman who was killed Thursday morning after she was struck by a train. According to Macon County Coroner Michael Burkham, the woman was Hannah E. Claghorn of Mount Zion. According to Mount Zion police, the woman was riding her bike on the bike trail at the Baltimore Road crossing around 11 a.m. when she was struck and killed by the Canadian National freight train. Burkham said the investigation is ongoing.

DECATUR — A 66-year-old Decatur man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for possessing and disseminating images of the sexual abuse of children under the age of 13. Charles E. Bolsen pleaded guilty Thursday in Macon County Circuit Court to one count of Class X felony dissemination of child pornography. He also pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography and was sentenced to an two years of conditional discharge.

ASHMORE — A lucky Illinois Lottery player came away $532,504 richer after stopping at a Coles County convenience store. The lottery organization announced Wednesday that the winning FastPlay Cash Castle lottery ticket was purchased at I & I Deli in the village of Ashmore, population roughy 637. The business at 304 W. Ashmore St. will receive a 1% bonus of the prize amount, or about $5,300, for selling the winning ticket.
