We’ll be interviewing community leaders, elected officials and voters in their neighborhoods about the issues that matter to them. We’re calling it Word from the Curb. Our first broadcast was on Thursday in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Pope Francis' funeral took place in Rome early Saturday morning and was watched by the entire world — including in New York City where many Catholics embraced the Pope's reforms to the church. Father James Martin, a Jesuit like Pope Francis, and editor at America Media, the Jesuit Review of Faith and Culture, joined WNYC’s All Things Considered on the eve of the funeral to discuss the Pope’s legacy here and abroad.

As we prepare to spring forward into Daylight Saving Time, let's not forget scientists say it's dangerous and unhealthy. The clocks move forward by an hour at Sunday 2 a.m., henceforth 3 a.m.We've put together some information and advice to stay safe on this biannual tradition. Try to ease in. It's best to move gradually out of your sleep pattern rather than all at once, so maybe start with a half hour change in your wake-up time if you can. And of course nap liberally, now and throughout the year.
