LOVELAND — Angry? Silly Bills. You didn’t make Marvin Mims Jr. angry. You made him hungry. “We go to Buffalo. We go up 7-0, we’re feeling good. And then at the end of the game, we get our butts whooped and the season’s over,” Mims, the Broncos’ third-year wide receiver, told me Saturday afternoon after hosting the first of two weekend youth football camps along the Front Range at Ray Patterson Field. “I don’t want to say it’s a terrible feeling.

Word to the wise, Shedeur Sanders: If you’re not careful, the next ticket you get will be a one-way flight out of Cleveland. Fifth-round quarterbacks, by and large, aren’t legendary. They’re disposable. You can count on one hand the NFL QBs drafted in the fifth round who’ve had a serious impact in the NFL since the 1970 merger. Mark Brunell and Steve Grogan are at the head of the class. But it’s a small room. Dan Orlovsky? 2-10 as a starter. Troy Smith? 4-4. Josh Johnson? 1-8. Nathan Peterman? 1-4.

DENVER — It better be a cleanser, not a Tenzer. A franchise with peak Nikola Jokic deserves a Jokic-level general manager. ESPN analyst Bob Myers, who built a dynasty at Golden State. Miami’s Andy Elisburg. Monte McNair. David Griffin. Heck, even a Tim Connelly reunion would feel like a shot in the arm right about now. Lord help Josh Kroenke if he’s kept Nuggets Nation waiting on the front porch for two straight months only to keep the GM job in-house.

Count on the Rockies to buy low, sell nigh. You could field at least half a starting nine, and a salty one, out of the players Dick Monfort let walk away since 2018. DJ LeMahieu at first or second. Brendan Rodgers at second. Trevor Story at short. A battery of Jon Gray on the mound and Elias Diaz behind the plate. Which is why we’re on our knees, Mr. Monfort. We’re begging here. If you truly love Ryan McMahon, let him go. If you truly love German Marquez, let him go, too.
