BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — The City of Bloomington announced that it hired a new Director of Community Impact & Enhancement on Tuesday. Cordaryl Patrick is taking the position and his salary will be $147,000 a year, city spokeswoman Katherine Murphy said. Patrick previously served as the Director of Economic and Community Development for the City of Decatur, where he led a team of 30 and worked rehabbing abandoned properties and expanding access to affordable housing.

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — CityLink announced it will provide free rides for its 16th annual Passenger Appreciation Day on Thursday. The free rides will be provided on CityLink fixed-route buses, CityLift paratransit vehicles, and CountyLink rural transportation vehicles, , a CityLink news release stated. The free rides are to honor the former City Link General Manager Jerome Lilly, who died unexpectedly in 2007. The CityLink Transit Center in Downtown Peoria was dedicated to Lilly in 2009.

Construction crews struck an unmarked gas main, near General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport, and Ameren crews are currently working to repair it, county spokeswoman Gretchen Pearsall said.
