The Florida Highway Patrol arrested and charged a man after troopers say he fled from a traffic stop late Friday night. FHP says they found a Polaris Slingshot driving almost 20 miles an hour over the limit on a 60 mph stretch on Interstate 4 westbound. Troopers say when they tried to pull him over on an exit to U.S. Route 441, he made a right turn and fled down 35th Street.

Florida Highway Patrol says a DeLand man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning.Troopers say the 64-year-old man was walking westbound on New York Avenue towards the Blue Lake Avenue intersection when they were hit by a Honda sedan.Investigators say the man was not in a marked crosswalk when he was hit. The driver of the vehicle and a passenger were uninjured and remained at the scene.FHP continues to investigate the accident.

DeLand police are investigating after a fight between several men led to another man being shot and killed early Saturday morning. The DeLand Police Department says it, along with the Volusia Sheriff's Office, responded to McCabe's Bar on North Amelia Avenue around 1:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Investigators say witnesses told police that a fistfight broke out between several men, and during the fight, one of the men pulled out a gun and started shooting.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a possible fatal hit-and-run in Osceola County early Friday morning.Troopers tell WESH 2 News that it happened near the intersection of East Osceola Parkway and Buenaventura Boulevard. The intersection remains closed at this time.Investigators say it appears that a vehicle struck a pedestrian, and one person is dead.

The Ocala Police Department says a portion of West Silver Springs Boulevard is expected to remain closed for hours as they investigate a person struck and killed by a vehicle.Investigators say the incident happened in the 1900 block of West Silver Springs Boulevard.Currently, all eastbound lanes from Southwest 20th Avenue to Southwest Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue are closed.
