KALISPELL — A project years in the making in the Flathead has reached a major milestone helping keep the Samaritan House’s affordable housing expansion stay on track. “This project serves to fit and fill a couple of gaps in the community,” said Samaritan House Executive Director Chris Krager. Come July 1st, the Samaritan House will officially break ground on the first phase of their affordable housing project which has been in the works since 2021.

KALISPELL — A second case of measles was confirmed in last week in a Flathead County resident who recently traveled outside of the state. Dozens of health care professionals at Logan Health in Kalispell in March started a Measles Incident Command Team and have been meeting on a weekly basis preparing for a potential outbreak.

WHITEFISH — Emily Rea was last seen on July 16, 2024; she was reported missing when she didn't return after going to Hungry Horse Reservoir to go paddle-boarding alone. Her vehicle was found at a boat launch site, and her paddleboard was discovered the next evening—upside down, over two miles away—but Emily has never been located. Nearly a year later, Emily’s family is still searching for answers.

Nearly a year later Emily’s family is still searching for answers. “It’s time to reengage, we’re looking to up this search effort,” said Emily's Uncle Brian Sanders. A large crowd gathered in Whitefish at the United Methodist Church Saturday morning for an organizational rally.
