Officers responded to a call at 4:30 a.m. about the attack. The victim told police a man approached her and “struck her in the upper body, causing her to fall to the ground,” OPD said.

Downtown Ocala is on the path toward major growth with plans to add a new hotel and a long-anticipated parking garage. Crews are working to build an AC Marriott Hotel and a six-level garage with more than 800 parking spaces.
