At Global Coin Solutions, the painstaking process of sorting through currency from around the world is done largely by hand. The Ontario company, which specializes in cash management and foreign currency fundraising, is looking to effect change for those most in need. "Our estimates are that there's between two and three billion dollars in foreign currency in Canada doing nothing," company founder and president Scott Hutchings said.

A month after being hit by a GO Train at Long Branch station in Etobicoke, a 46-year-old mother of two remains in hospital. Manal Srouji considers herself a careful person who routinely uses public transportation to get from home to work. Then, the morning of Sept. 17, her life changed. Police say at around 8:15 a.m., a woman was struck by a GO Train and transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities say the woman had been walking near the edge of the platform when she was hit.

A week after Global News first reported on coyote attacks on dogs at Princess Margaret Park in Etobicoke, residents continue to come forward to express their concern over the ongoing issue. There have been numerous reports to the City of Toronto concerning coyote attacks in the area. Doug Youngson says he didn't think twice about stepping in when his dog Kahlua was surrounded by a pack of coyotes at the park on Canada Day.

Daniel Noble and his dog were out for what was supposed to be a relaxing Sunday stroll through the park. Instead, he says that feeling of tranquility vanished when he and his pup were attacked by a pack of coyotes. It happened at Princess Margaret Park, near Kipling Avenue and Rathburn Road around 10:30 a.m.Noble says he and his dog were chased through a wooded area of the park by as many as eight coyotes.

A Collingwood man has pleaded guilty to the murder of his wife after her body was found inside a burning SUV more than a year ago. In a Barrie court room Thursday afternoon, James Schwalm plead guilty to second-degree murder in the death 40-year-old Ashley Schwalm. On Jan. 26, 2023, Ontario Provincial Police found a wrecked SUV on Arrowhead Road in Collingwood, which was on fire.
