Irish language campaigners at Queen’s University have vowed to continue their fight to get dual language signs that put Irish on equal terms with English across campus. An Cumann Gaelach held a protest last week calling for bilingual signage at the university. Young unionists railed against the proposal saying the money would be better spent providing free sanitary products.

Sextortion scammers are using AI to target teenage boys, the Irish News has learned. Artificial Intelligence is used to create fake naked images of the teenagers with the scammers then threatening to release the images to the targets’ friends unless money is handed over. The scammers have also adapted a new strategy of making small money demands in the hope that the teenager pays out - often £100 - without telling anyone.

A cycling campaign group has urged Translink to leave the morning bike ban on trains up to the discretion of conductors. Currently there is just one carriage on NI Railway services where cyclists can stow their bike - but it contains a notice saying bikes are not allowed aboard before 9.30am on weekdays. Until recently, this rule has gone largely unenforced with some morning commuter services much quieter than others.
