A fire that tore through a Brooklyn apartment building last week was set by a squatter who said another illegal tenant stole his money, cops said. Cassius Moss, 54, was charged with arson and reckless endangerment after police said he ignited a flammable liquid and started a blaze in Bedford-Stuyvesant that displaced residents, injured a firefighter and damaged a building next door. Police sources said Moss admitted to setting the fire.

A three-alarm fire tore through one Brooklyn apartment building and damaged another Wednesday afternoon. Over 100 first responders — including EMS and the firefighters—rushed to a blaze that erupted around 1:31 p.m. near Lewis Ave. and Stuyvesant Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant. The fire entirely burned down one building, and damaged a building next to the structure, the FDNY said.

A massive fire tore through a Brooklyn church Wednesday, reducing the century-old house of worship to a pile of smoldering rubble, the FDNY said. More than 150 firefighters responded to put out the blaze that broke out inside the Iglesia Pentecostal Arca Cristiana church on Halsey St. near Central Ave. in Bushwick around 10:30 a.m., FDNY officials said. Residents who lived next door to the church were quickly alerted to the fire by the heavy smoke and flames and ran outside as a precaution.
