SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah — While police still have no major developments in the murder investigation of a mother and son in Saratoga Springs, a newly-unsealed search warrant reveals a bit of new information. On the morning of March 28, 44-year-old Jessica Lyman was found next to the body of her son, 8-year-old Eli Painter, inside their home. Painter was declared dead at the scene, while Lyman was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.

LAYTON, Utah — The director of a charter elementary school in northern Utah was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of sexually exploiting minors by way of distributing child pornography — and even being involved in producing it. Jared Dallan Buckley, 40, is the lead director at Leadership Learning Academy, a K-6 public charter school with campuses in Ogden and Layton.

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — A member of the South Jordan Fire Department passed away while on duty Monday afternoon. The department said the firefighter was found unresponsive in his room at Station 61, located near 10700 S. Redwood Road, shortly after 2 p.m. His fellow crew members attempted lifesaving measures and called for help from nearby stations. He was taken to the Jordan Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name is not yet being released.

HEBER CITY, Utah — A man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of a road rage incident that occurred several days prior in Heber City. Police said they responded to a hit-and-run on Sunday, April 13, where a cyclist was struck. An officer said they noticed "acceleration marks" leading toward the spot where the cyclist was hit. The next day, police obtained surveillance video from a nearby business.
