WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Tuesday will be vastly different from Monday. Today will feature widespread showers and storms across the region from the late morning through this afternoon. A couple storms could become strong, featuring wind gusts up to 45-50 MPH and/or hail less than 1″ in diameter. Severe weather is most likely going to stay south of our area. However, these storms will have a decent amount of lightning and also could feature heavy rainfall.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - We’ll be experiencing a little bit of everything over the next couple of days in north central Wisconsin. To start out, Monday will be our warmest day of the week (and potentially all year). Highs are set to top out in the mid to upper-80s, at least a few degrees ahead of our highs so far in 2025. Sunny skies and breezy southwest winds will allow us to warm up. Along with the sunshine, we will be dealing with more Canadian wildfire smoke again today.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - We are ending the week with what we have had most of this week: clouds & rain. Along with the clouds and rain, we are expected to have bad air quality in Wisconsin today due to wildfire smoke from Canada. All of Wisconsin is under an Air Quality Alert from 6 AM this morning to 6 AM Saturday morning. While some smoke could linger Saturday morning, smoke should move southwest of us and mostly out of our area, creating much better conditions for outdoor activities as skies clear.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Thursday will feature more mainly cloudy skies, but there will also be some changes. First, highs will top out in the low to mid-70s today. Second, we will get some clearing this afternoon up north before skies clear up more for all communities overnight. Third and finally, rain chances will be lower today than the last couple of days. Still, an isolated shower or sprinkle cannot be ruled out through the early afternoon hours.

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - In terms of high temperatures, Wednesday will be our coolest day we will have for awhile. Highs will top out in the mid to upper-60s with showers possible early south of Highway 29 and especially off to the southwest. In addition, more showers will be possible as far north as around Highway 64 during the afternoon. Once this rain is out of north central Wisconsin, we should get a break heading into Thursday.
