The free upgrades were thanks to Rebuilding Together Pacific Northwest. One homeowner said she might have ended up homeless without the repairs. Dianne Cain has lived in Portland her whole life, and has lived in her house for 50 years. But being on a fixed income, she could not afford some important repairs.
