BEAVERCREEK Ore. (KPTV) - A small church near Oregon City is picking up the pieces after vandals threw rocks at their windows, including some of the historic stained glass. In total, three of Beavercreek United Church of Christ’s windows were broken, but luckily, the stained glass was not completely shattered.

MARION COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - Silver Falls State Park has finished the construction project to add more ADA-compliant features to their campgrounds, and has reopened camping reservations for this summer. Known for their Trail of Ten Falls and their expansive camp grounds, Silver Falls is now trying to be known for something else: accessibility. “No matter what your mobility is, you should be taken care of here at Silver Falls,” Park Manager Chris Gilliand said.

WASCO COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - The Rowena wildfire has destroyed 49 homes in Wasco County, with numbers expected to grow, and hundreds have been evacuated. As of Saturday, Oregon fire officials said the Rowena Fire was at 3,831 acres and 5% contained. Level 3, Level 2 and Level 1 evacuation orders were all still in effect. Additionally, Mayer State Park is closed.

THE DALLES, Ore. (KPTV) — David Lyons, a former wildland firefighter, was in The Dalles Wednesday afternoon when he saw the Rowena fire coming over the hillside near 7 Mill Hill Road. Lyons had stopped at an auto shop after work and noticed a bulldozer sitting nearby. Within 15 minutes, Lyons was on the bulldozer and working to stop the flames from spreading. “[I’m] just a country boy who knows how to run equipment,” Lyons said.
