GAHANNA, Ohio (WSYX) — A smash-and-grab in Gahanna has businesses on high alert. Goodfellas Smoke Shop says it was burglarized twice in one week, and it was all caught on camera. Now, police are on the hunt for those responsible. Cameras inside the smoke shop caught two different burglaries. And get this, they happened within days of each other. "It's bold enough to come twice in one week. That's bold enough. It's insane," Romelio Serhan said, the shop owner.

Mike DeWine has announced that most remote workers in Ohio will be required to return to the office, a move that has sparked mixed reactions among state employees and local businesses. Through an executive order, DeWine is requiring all permanent state employees to return to their designated office or facility by March 17, 2025. A motorcade of red, white, and blue slowly processed down Main Street Wednesday night. People lined the street to honor the life and service of local hero, 2nd Lt. Dominic Karl Von Frybarger. The US Army, the West Jefferson Police Department, and other Central Ohio agencies escorted him home.

Thousands of people have been speaking out against the "Advance Ohio Higher Education Act. More than 800 people submitted written testimony against Senate Bill 1. A little over 200 spoke in person Tuesday night. The potential effects of the diversity and inclusion ban came up repeatedly during testimony. "People are going to avoid those subjects altogether. They're not going to want to try to navigate icy waters, and what does the government say is ok to say in a classroom," one speaker said.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — New information in the death of Pike County EMT, 25-year-old Logan Warren. Police are investigating the death as a suspected OVI crash. The man accused of drinking and driving is 37-year-old John Moore. Moore was booked into the Gallia County Jail Friday and charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. Across social media, those close to Warren describe him as a dedicated first responder full of courage and compassion.
