    In 1973, the year my little sister was born, country legend Tom T. Hall released a song entitled simply, “I Love.” As you can imagine, this was a sweet song, and if you haven’t heard it, I encourage you to find it and give it a listen. Mr. Hall sings, “I love little baby ducks, old pickup trucksSlow-movin’ trainsand rain…” The reason I know this song at all is that mama would sing it to Sherrin and me when we were little girls. I didn’t know who Tom T.

Some members of the Chipley City Council said they were open to the possibility of hiring a front-office clerk–possibly part-time–to greet people at the CRA and Chamber office at 672 5th Street and generally help out. Discussions about potentially hiring a clerk took place during a City Council workshop on Thursday, Nov. 9.

    “Get over here!”So goes the famous battle cry of Mortal Kombat character Scorpion. For Nov. 16, martial artist Chris Casamassa–who portrayed the yellow-clad wraith in the 1995 film adaptation–will be urging kids to get over to Believe Martial Arts in Chipley for a free anti-bullying seminar. The workshop begins at 6 p.m. Interested families can RSVP at 850-676-4476. Casamassa is on a mission to help a million kids become confident and “bully-proof” by 2025.

I started with track and field in middle school, then cross country, and since then, I have always enjoyed lacing up and going outside for a run. For some people, they think that’s crazy! But we all have our ways of relieving stress. In college, I decided to start running 5ks (3.12 miles). I started running a 5k daily, trying to beat my record time.
