SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The word "unexpected" could be used to define the past 18 months of Utah's weather. After a below-normal snowpack in early 2022, a blazing hot and dry summer gave Utah 34 100-degree days or higher, and severely worsened our drought — then the unexpected happened. The summers monsoon gave the Beehive State plenty of precipitation statewide, and had a relatively quiet fire season. So, what’s to come this winter?

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A recently discovered comet is expected to be visible throughout the month of Sept. According to Japanese astronomer Shuichi Nakano, Comet Nishimura, discovered Aug. 12, 2023, was last visible on earth in 1588, over 400 years ago. Officials of NASA stated that Nishimura has been increasing in visibility since its discovery, and will only grow brighter over Sept. as it continues to plummet closer towards the sun.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Considering where Debra Bonner is today, it might be surprising to hear her describe her early days in school. Bonner used to be considered a "bad little girl."“Yeah, because I was fighting every day in elementary school. But the reason I was fighting was to take up for people who were being bullied,” Bonner said. In Flint Michigan, life was geared toward the survival of the fittest, and she wasn’t one to back down.
