KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A mother and son each face six more felony charges related to an illegal vehicle towing scheme that included allegedly stealing vehicles and charging owners large fees to get their vehicles back. Donald Adamson, the owner of Metro Tow, and his mother, Lannette Adamson, were each charged Wednesday in Platte County Court with three counts of tampering with a motor vehicle and three counts of forgery.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The second of two men responsible for the October 2019 shooting deaths of four people in a Kansas City, Kansas, bar was found guilty of multiple charges Wednesday in Wyandotte County District Court. A Wyandotte County judge found Hugo Villanueva-Morales guilty of four counts of capital murder, multiple counts of aggravated battery and felon in possession of a firearm after a bench trial. The mass murder happened at about 1:30 a.m. in the Tequila KC Bar, 1013 Central Ave.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fire crews from Douglas County, Lawrence and surrounding communities are trying to control a large grass fire Wednesday afternoon near Clinton Lake. The fire is near 125 North 1150 Road in rural Douglas County and just west of Clinton Lake, according to Douglas County Emergency Management. Firefighters were able to stop the fire from reaching the one house in that area. No injuries have been reported. Crews are using a back-burning operation to knock down the blaze.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two men under the influence of powerful narcotics were found sleeping in their vehicles hours apart Friday in North Kansas City, Missouri. Police found Wilbert Etier inside a red Ford 150 pickup truck at about 3:58 a.m. parked on top of the electric traffic controller for the crosswalk at Armour Road and Swift Street, according to a court document. The truck was in gear but not running. Officers woke up Eiter and asked him to get out of the truck.
