    NEW CITY - A 45-year-old woman faces years in state prison for causing a person's death when she crashed her car while drunk, the Rockland District Attorney's Office said. Elizabeth Mitchell crashed her car on June 9, 2024. Mitchell drove drunk at speeds nearing 70 miles-per-hour in a 30 mph zone, causing her to lose control of her car, run a stop sign and crash into a metal barrier and fence, District Attorney Thomas Walsh said in a news release on Tuesday.

    NYACK - A 48-year-old contractor faces felony charges after being accused of creating a counterfeit home improvement license, authorities said. Christian C. Kolarz of Nyack was arrested on April 18 during an investigation by the Rockland Sheriff's Office and Rockland Consumer Affairs, according to a news release issued on Monday, April 28.
