DENVER — A man in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood reached out to Steve On Your Side after he spent two years trying to get the city’s attention about a small hole in his neighborhood street. David Whitehouse said the hole opened after a heavy hailstorm in May 2023. Whitehouse estimated he contacted Denver’s 311 15 to 20 times over the past two years. He also reached out to a city councilmember. Nothing seemed to work.

BRIGHTON, Colo. — Adams County prosecutors want to add two more victims to a felony theft case against a backyard landscaper who was the subject of a Steve On Your Side investigation. John Moreno, owner of Get Er Done, appeared before an Adams County judge Friday morning on three felony theft cases. Prosecutors and Moreno’s attorneys agreed on a continuance until May 27 while prosecutors work on consolidating the cases against him.

GEORGETOWN, Colo. — Prosecutors have released a police training video recorded as part of a plea deal with three police officers on the scene of the shooting death of Christian Glass in 2022. The 30-minute video is meant as a companion to the full body camera video, which Fifth Judicial District Attorney Heidi McCollum said hundreds of police departments across the country use to train their officers on what not to do when dealing with someone in mental health crisis.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo — Susie Davis could save more than $100 a trip if her home was 3/10 of a mile south of where it is right now. In December, Davis had a major complication from a back surgery. She contracted a bacterial infection that led to three more surgeries and paralysis below her waist. Since she returned home from rehab, her husband has been relying on private transportation companies to get her to and from doctors’ appointments.

DENVER — At least two Denver cleaning companies could face hefty fines from the federal government for employing people unauthorized to work in the U.S. Earlier this week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a news release announcing $8 million in fines for three businesses. 9NEWS Investigates found two of the businesses facing the steepest fines appear to be connected. ICE accused CCS Denver, Inc.
